This ceramic vase was inspired by underwater world and its magical beauty.
Trapped Bloom is a ceramic vessel that embodies the tension between fragility and confinement. The ceramic vessel—sculpted with large, irregular openings—evokes both protection and captivity, its skeletal framework resembling the remnants of a decayed, forgotten cage. Nestled within this structure, a vivid red anemone clings to the interior. The striking contrast between the ceramic cage and the fluid, organic form of the anemone highlights the fragility of marine ecosystems, where life is both sheltered and threatened by its environment. The vivid red, a symbol of urgency and vitality, pulses within the confines of its space, inviting contemplation on resilience and entrapment.

It measures: 9.5″ tall x 6.5″ wide.

This large sculpture is hand-built from black stoneware clay and high fired in electric kiln.
