Description
Ceramic Broken Bird Egg Shell Sculptures. GENESIS I & II
The broken bird eggshell emerges from the jagged edges of a tree stump pushing the boundaries. The delicate shell forms a strong textural contrast with rough solid form. The choice of materials is intentional. Porcelain, with its delicate nature, contrasts beautifully against the solidity and roughness of the stoneware. There is an unexpected balance in this organic architecture. There’s something poetic about that relationship.
The sculpture symbolizes the fragile yet powerful moment when something ends, only to make room for something new. The broken eggshell carries the weight of transition, while the solid tree stump forms an enduring foundation.
The idea of transformation—breaking free, evolving, embracing renewal—is deeply woven into the visual and material language of the sculpture.
