Description

This coral reef ceramic vase was inspired by underwater life and nature’s influence on the organic live shapes and textures. A distinctive feature of the vase is it’s resemblance with a coral reef.  This piece reflects my relationship with natural forms. The subtle contrast between sage green and sand color and texture on the main body has a natural rustic feel.  The inside surface reminds you of waves splashing over the corals. Like the nature which is  imperfectly beautiful, this design captures natural fluidity and movement of imperfect form.

This large vase is hand formed from slabs and coils. The vase has multiple underglaze, stains and glaze applications. It is high fired in electric kiln. 

The global popularity in marine ornamentals for home decor is rapidly expanding and becoming more popular. It is a functional piece of art that will add a unique touch to any interior.

The vase is 10″tall x 7.5″ wide.
