Ceramic Desert Stone Vase

I have developed this raw organic surface after experimenting for a while. Flat round slabs were covered with a thin coat of sodium silicate. the surface was dried very quickly with a heat gun and stretched in a dome shape creating beautiful spontaneous small and large cracks. Two dome shaped pieces were connected into a stone shape.
The vases were high fired and glazed inside. A few flowers will fit perfectly and will be a unique addition to any decor.
The stone vase is 5” tall by 4.5″ wide.
Description
This ceramic desert stone vase was inspired by rocks and stones I have seen in the desert. I feel a deep connection with the raw beauty of nature that connects me to the earth. My goal in my ceramic sculpture is to call upon an experience and imagination.
