Handcrafted Ceramic Sculptural Art Bowl | WAVES PETALS
Dimensions: 17” wide X 8″ deep .
This handcrafted ceramic bowl features an organic, sculptural form inspired by ocean. This form is shaped by my imagination of ocean and wind. It holds the movement of salt air, ocean waters and shifting light in still form. Â Every curve carries the memory of touch – intentionally imperfect and alive.Â
Designed as a unique artisan stoneware piece, it serves beautifully as a decorative accent and art object.

This TIDEFORM  hand-built ceramic vase is weathered by intention and  echoes the silent pressure of the ocean’s depths, where life persists in darkness and form is shaped by time. Its textured surface reminiscent of eroded stone and embedded shell fragments , evokes the slow sculptural power of ocean currents and marine ecosystems… Muted tones of light blue and beige ground the piece in an earth palette. The vessel dimensions are 13″ tall x 6″ wide.Â
The global popularity in marine ornamentals for home decor is rapidly expanding and becoming more popular. It is a functional piece of art that will add a unique touch to any interior.

This large vase was featured in New York Times magazine T. Â
The vase was hand formed from slabs and coils. The vase has multiple underglaze, stains and glaze applications. It is high fired in electric kiln. The subtle contrast between sage green and sand color and texture on the main body has a natural rustic feel. The inside surface reminds you of waves splashing over the corals. Like the nature which is imperfectly beautiful, this design captures natural fluidity and movement of imperfect form.
The vase is 10″tall x 7.5″ wide.

Horsehair raku ceramic blue luster vase .
The torn, petal-like edges create a sculptural silhouette, while the surface reveals a distinctive interplay of smoke and luster. Shades of blue, violet, and subtle gold emerge through the raku firing process, where horsehair and flame leave permanent traces across the ceramic body. The piece embodies the tension between control and unpredictability inherent in raku: fractured yet balanced, delicate yet enduring. The surface bears the permanent traces of fire and horsehair, transforming rupture into bloom.
The vase measure approximately: 6. 5” tall x 6.5” wide.

This horsehair raku vessel is created using a unique firing process. The piece is hand built from coils. The terra sigillata mixed with minerals applied in a few coats to bone dry clay and then burnished creating very smooth surface. The vessel is bisque fired and then fired again at raku kiln. it pulled from the kiln while glowing red hot. Horsehair were placed on the surface, igniting and leaving black carbon designs on the surface. The mineral gives a luster and subtle sheen that emanates from within the clay. The smoke initiates a chemical process pulling vibrant iridescent gold, green and purple-like luster to the surface. No two pieces of Raku will ever be alike.
Dimensions: 7.5“diameter by 4. 5” tall.

A totem born of fire and smoke—rugged, organic, and alive with iridescent luster. The surface is prepared with terra sigillata infused with minerals. At its most incandescent—pulled red-hot from the kiln—horsehair is laid across the ceramic body, igniting on contact and leaving smoky black carbon trails that dance across the form like ancient markings. The minerals respond to the heat and smoke, drawing forth a subtle, iridescent sheen—a emerald pearl-like luster that seems to rise from within the clay itself.
Dimensions: 11.5″ tall x 9″ wide x 3.5″ deep.

This hand formed art piece is one of my new organic marine ornamental forms. I love experimenting with surface textures. This is my new experimental raku technique. It took months and many tests to finally nail down this process and make me happy with the results.
