Exotic Seed Pod Ceramic Sculpture

My ceramic art is a reflection of my relationship with natural forms. The metamorphosis of nature’s forms and how they change from season to season is very fascinating to me. I gather natural objects on the beach and in the forest or sometimes pick them up in my garden. My imagination often transforms them into new forms, so they are not always replicas.

This hand sculptured piece is one of my new organic woodland forms. Using various building and finishing techniques I tried to capture the live movement of the pod. The design captures the natural fluidity.
