Woodland Sculptural Ceramic Vase

Description

My strongest inspiration comes from Mother Nature and its magical beauty, harmony, strength and power. Ceramics is about tactility, beauty, and subjectivity. My goal in my ceramic sculpture is to call upon a past experience and imagination.

This ceramic vase was inspired by an amazing variety of magnificent trees on the West Coast. Of course, I gave it my own interpretation. The natural brushwork retains the elegant woodland quality of nature’s work. The carved surface is filled with light green/ okra color glaze reminding you of moss on the bark.

This large organic vase is hand-built from coils and slabs. It is high fired in an electric kiln. It is glazed inside and functional and looks gorgeous with one long stem flower or a bunch of organic grass. This sculptural vase has a unique shape and surface; it will stand out on its own as a table décor piece.

The vase is 8″ tall x 7″ wide.
