Rustic Serving Platter With Driftwood Handle | EARTH DROUGHT
$250.00
I like experimenting with surface texture. I like dark or black clays and I use a lot of oxides. Both give the piece a richer vibrant look, complementing the clay. I called this platter EARTH DROUGHT. It resembles the earth affected by the global warming and changed weather conditions.
The object is made from black clay and has layered black stains and crackle glaze on top creating the dry earth effect. The outside surface was impressed on handmade wood bark mold. The handle is made from driftwood and secured by a natural suede cord. I love collecting driftwood. These came from Rialto Beach in Olympia National Park.
Dimensions: 12.5” long by 11.75” wide (without handle. ) 16” wide with handle.

Description
Handmade ceramics are always more than just tableware or décor. It is a creative process of transforming a ball of clay into an object of art. My vessels are simple and elegant with a bold look. My pieces are not formal, but rather natural organic forms with imperfections which make them look more unique and natural. They are beautiful accents to any home décor.
