This ceramic vase was inspired by the underwater world and an amazing variety of deep-water corals.

Tubipora Musica, most commonly known as Pipe Organ corals, is an amazing and unique coral that contains many organ pipe-like tubes of various heights. I gave it my own interpretation. The natural brushwork retains the elegant seashore quality of nature’s work. The subtle contrast between pink, orange and sand colors and texture has a very natural feel.  The design captures natural fluidity and movement. The combination of hollow shaped highly textured long tubes  with a subtle underwater color palette gives this sculpture a strong organic earthy vibe. 

This large vase is hand-built from tube coils. Numerous tubes were carefully attached one by one forming the vase shape. It is high fired in an electric kiln. The vase is functional, holds water well and looks gorgeous with a few tall flowers. 

The dimensions are: 19″ tall x 8″ wide.
