I have developed this beautiful organic surface after experimenting for a while. The flat top was covered with a thin coat of sodium silicate. The surface dried very quickly with a heat gun and stretched in a dome shape creating beautiful spontaneous small and large cracks.
The stone vase is 5” in diameter.
I used a difficult sodium silicate method to create this beautiful surface. After the skinny form was thrown on the wheel, I applied black slip to a white clay body. When the black slip was dried enough, sodium silicate was painted on the outside and then heated very quickly with a heat gun. I expanded the form from the inside out while spinning the wheel causing the outside surface to crack. After the first firing, I applied thin red shino glaze so that it penetrated in cracks and crevices and then cleaned the form leaving red glaze only in the cracks. The vase was glazed inside and high fired again at 2250F.

These red rock vases are reminiscent of serrated Rainbow Mountains in Utah. The combination of two brown and white clays thrown on the wheel gives a dynamic flow of color patterns. These are functional pieces of art that will add a unique touch to any organic interior.
My strongest inspiration comes from Mother Nature and its magical beauty, harmony, strength and power. My goal in my ceramic sculpture is to call upon experience or emotion.
A few flowers will fit perfectly in these vases and will look beautiful as a group.

The combination of brown and white color clays thrown on the wheel give a dynamic flow of color patterns and reminds of marble stone. After the vases were thrown on the wheel and completely enclosed, they were altered and shaped as mountain rocks. The vases were high fired.

The focal centrepiece of the necklace is a hand-cut and hammered sterling silver pendant. The pendant was oxidized and then polished to add dimension to the piece. Blue faceted apatite gemstone is suspended in the opening reminding you of a raindrop. The pendant floats freely off a long sterling silver chain. Finished with sterling silver toggle clasp.
The necklace stands on its own though you can layer it with other simple necklaces.
The chain measures 30″ long.
Round shaped genuine faceted chalcedony shimmer with ice blue color reminding you of moonlight. Dreamy stones are set in silver bezel and float off triple sterling silver hoops. Finished with sterling silver French wire hook closure.
Rectangular shaped white or black druse quartz are set in textured gold-plated bezel. The stones are suspended from contrasting hand hammered black oval rings and a bar. One earring is attached to a hand forged and textured oxidized silver oval ring and another to a long-oxidized silver bar. Finished with 14K gold filled French wire.
